Troubleshooting: Login Error - The password of the account has expired
Question: When I tried to login AutoCount, an error message prompted: Unknown Sql Exception (number=18487, Message=Login failed for user ‘sa’. Reason: The password of the account book has expired.). Why?
Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0 / 2.1
Possible Reason:
You’ve enabled ‘Enforced Password Expiration’ in SQL Management Studio.
Solution:
1) To disable the password expiration, go to server computer, search for SQL Management Studio.
2) Login SQL Management Studio using Windows Authentication.
3) Expand the folder of Security > Logins > sa. Right click on sa and select Properties.
4) Under General, uncheck “Enforce password expiration” and click on OK.
5) Now you should be able to login AutoCount.
If you do not wish to disable password expiration, then you should connect SQL Management Studio using sa, and maintain your new password.
For account books in AutoCount, you need to reset accounting configuration and attach account books again using new sa password.
