Troubleshooting: Login Error - Cannot open database “AED xxx” requested by login and the database in Recovery Pending status

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question: When I try to login AutoCount, it prompted error “Cannot open datase “AED_import” requested by the login. The login failed. I do try use SQL Management studio to view the status of the database, but it shows recovery pending.

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

AutoCount Data folder is being compressed.

When I try to set online for the database, the message shows the data file is compressed.

Solution:

Uncompress AutoCount Data folder.

Usually, the AutoCount data folder is located at C drive, however user may have place it at other drive.

1) Go for Window Search, search for Services, open it and scroll down to SQL Server (A2006), right click and stop it.

2) Go to your AutoCount data folder, right click > Properties.

3) Go to Advanced…, uncheck ‘Compress contents to save disk space’, click on OK.

Click on OK again and select apply changes to the folder, sub folders and files, and click on OK.

4) Double click on AutoCount data folder, and right click > Properties on the data file and log file to make sure it was not compressed.

5) Go back to Services to right click > Start the SQL Server (A2006) services.

6) Try to login AutoCount and you should be able to login now.
