Question : How to maintain Carry Forward Leave without using Excel template?
Answer :
1) Go to Human Resource > Leave Management > Leave Balance (as in Figure 1)
Figure 1
2) Select Employee E-0001 > Edit (as in Figure 2)
Figure 2
3) Example: Employee E-0001 has 5 days of carry forward leave for Annual Leave.
Set : title as AL, column BF key in as 5, then Save (as in Figure 3)

4) You may preview Leave Balance Report to see if BF leave is updated. (as in Figure 4)
