Cloud Payroll - How to use the exclude OT Calculation function in rule maintenance?

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question : How to use the exclude OT Calculation function in rule maintenance?

Answer :

This function is used to exclude certain work hours based on selection when Auto OT calculation is ticked. The system will exclude “before shift time / break 1 / break 2 / break 3 / after shift time” when calculating overtime hours.

The Calculation will be:

Total Worked Hours – Shift Working Hours = Overtime Worked Hours

Overtime Worked Hours – Excluded Overtime Worked Hours (based on the selection in exclude OT Calculation) = Acceptable Overtime Worked Hours

For example, the shift-in time set as 10:00 am; the shift-out time at 4:00pm with 1 hour break 1. The shift working hours will be 5 hours

Below scenario is example for overtime calculation when exclude OT Calculation is selected.

(a) Exclude OT Calculation: Before Shift and Break 1 is ticked

Clock in at 8.59 am and clock out at 5.49 pm

Total Worked Hours = 5.49 pm – 9.40 am = 8 hours 9 mins = 8.2 hours

Overtime Worked Hours = Total Worked Hours – Shift Working Hours

= 8.2 – 5

= 3.2

Excluded Overtime Worked Hours = Before Shift Time + Break 1 Time

= (10-9.40) + 1

= 1 hours 20 mins

= 1.3 hours

Acceptable Overtime Worked Hours = 3.2 -1.3

= 1.8

1.8 hours convert to mins = 1. 49 hours

Hence in attendance transaction > overtime > actual will show the 1.49 hours
