From AutoCount Resource Center

Question : How to use the overtime rounding setting in rule maintenance?

Answer :

This function is used to rounding the overtime worked hours. There are three options – No Rounding, Round Up, Round Down, and 5 choices of rounding time: 5 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins and 1 hour.

The Calculation will be:

Total Worked Hours – Shift Working Hours = Overtime Worked Hours

Overtime Worked Hours – Excluded Overtime Worked Hours = Acceptable Overtime Worked Hours

Acceptable Overtime Worked Hours will be rounded based on your selection.

For example, the shift-in time set as 10:00 am; the shift-out time at 4:00pm with 1 hour break 1. The shift working hours will be 5 hours

Below scenario is example for calculation for overtime when rounding option is selected.

(a) OT Rounding = Round Up, and OT Rounding Time = 15 mins

Clock in at 10.36 am and clock out at 5.48 pm

Total Worked Hours = 5.48 pm – 10.36 am = 7.2 hours

Overtime Worked Hours = Total Worked Hours – Shift Working Hours

= 7.2 – 5

= 2.2

Excluded Overtime Worked Hours = Before Shift Time + Break 1 Time

= 0+ 1

= 1.0

Acceptable Overtime Worked Hours = 2.2 -1.0

= 1.2

1.2 hours will convert to mins = 1h12m

1h12m round up to 15 mins = 1h15m

Hence in attendance transaction > overtime > actual will show the 1h15m
