Question: When installing SQL Server manually, what are the port numbers or exceptions that I should add into firewall rules or antivirus exception?

Answer:

1. Click on Windows button and search for SQL Server Configuration Manager

2. Go to SQL Server Network Configuration, select Protocols, right click on TCP/IP/ Properties

3. Search for TCP Dynamic Ports. Now, you may add the TCP dynamic port for SQL Server into Firewall rules or antivirus exception.
