Pos3/5/FNB: Sync Error because the ‘PRIMARY’ filegroup is full

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question :

When I was trying to sync, system prompts an error: …could not allocate space… because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full… ?

Error found while sync Pos from T01 to HQ. It will stop sync Pos for this session. Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.PosDtlPromotion'.'PK__PosDtlPr__FB997989FE63FED6' in database 'AED_xxx' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.

Solution :

Your Database or table size has reached maximum limit of Microsoft SQL Express edition and computer storage is full.

Solution :

1.Login your POS Backend or Accounting > Help > About AutoCount Accounting or POS > Server: Check Edition*

  • You may refer to the following link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/editions-and-components-of-sql-server-version-15?view=sql-server-ver15

2.After knowing your Microsoft SQL Server edition, check your Hard Drive (HDD) storage > make sure the drive that keeping Autocount Data folder still has free space (My sample is Local Drive (C:))

3.Go in to AutoCount Data folder > find your Database Name (AED_xxx_Data) > check the Size (10,488,896KB = 10GB+)

4.Should the database size exceeded Max limit, you may:

a. Purchase higher edition of MS SQL Server, such as Enterprise, Standard, etc…

b. Perform year end process, it will delete/purge old data and reduce the size of current database.

c. Create a new database or new account book.
