Stock: Profit Calculator cost not the same as my purchase cost (FIFO Item)

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question: I have created an Invoice and when I view the profit calculator, the unit cost of the item AA (FIFO costing method) shown is different from my purchase cost. Previously I purchased with RM 11 and RM 11.50 but now profit calculator shows RM 11.1667. Why?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Answer:

The stock out (3 qty) has different cost value each. The system shows the average cost (of 3 qty) in Profit Calculator’s unit cost.

You may refer to the stock card and click on “+” sign to expand the detail of FIFO cost.

From stock card, notice that it is separated into 2 lines. This is because stock out (3 qty) has different cost value: 2 qty with cost RM 11, and 1 qty with cost RM 11.50.

2 * 11 = RM 22
1 * 11.50 = RM 11.50
Total Cost = RM 33.50

Average Cost
= Total Cost / Total Qty
= 33.50 / 3
= 11.1667
