Stock: What is Seq in Item Opening Balance Maintenance?

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question: What is Seq column in Item Opening Balance Maintenance?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Answer:

The Seq column is used to show priority sequence for cost out. It applies only to items with costing method of First in First out (FIFO) or Last in First Out (LIFO). Smaller seq number means higher priority.

Example: When created an Invoice for Item: 000003 (FIFO costing method) to sell 16 qty.

View stock card and expand the detail. It shows the following stock out sequence:
-10 qty cost at 5
-5 qty cost at 6
-1 qty cost at 8

This is because according to Item Opening Balance, 10 qty is seq 0 which is the highest priority for stock out, follows with 5 qty (Seq 1) and 2 qty (Seq 2) in different costs respectively.
