Troubleshooting:Gift Rule - Sales Account is empty or invalid

Question: Upon saving gift rule records, error message prompted: "Gift Rule GST Sales account no is empty or invalid"

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

"Sales Account No." is not defined in GST Setting.

OR

Sales Account code has been changed in Tools > Change Code, but it is not updated in GST Setting.

Solution:

Go to GST > GST Settings, click on the tab of Gift Rule, define the Credit Account No. (normally refers to a Sales account no. with MSIC code maintained in Account Maintenance.)

Note:No amount will be posted to this Sales account, it is for the purpose of capturing its MSIC code..
