Troubleshooting: Attach Account Book error – The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question: I tried to get available database at Client PC, an error message prompted “Critical Sql Exception (Number=-2146893007, Message=A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 – The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm.)). Why?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

The version of SQL Server on the server computer does not support a version of TLS that is enabled on your computer. Thus, the communication fails.

Solution (1):

At Client PC, go to Regedit and delete all the subfolder under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols

Solution (2):

Upgrade your current SQL Server to SQL Server 2019.

If you do not wish to upgrade current SQL Server, you may install SQL Server 2019 in another instance name, restore your database to the new SQL instance, then reattach the database.

Note: Please seek assistance from your software dealer if the problem persists after performing the suggested steps.
