Troubleshooting: Delete user - error message prompted

Question: Error message: "The value of column UserId in table EventLog does not exist in its master file" prompted when deleting a user?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reason:

This message indicates there are event log for this user that is locked in event log table, and the system could not allow deletion of such user. Besides, if there is any transaction exists in other tables such as Item, Invoice or Purchase, the related user is not allowed to be deleted too.


Solution:

Set the status of such user to "non-active". Go to General Maintenance > User Maintenance > select the User ID, click on Edit User, uncheck the checkbox of "Active".
