Troubleshooting: Discrepancy of amount when show up to level is different

Question: Why there is a discrepancy of amount when show up to level is different?

Possible Reason:

Some of the sub accounts were created in wrong account type. This may happen when migrating chart of account from other software.


Solution:

1) Compare between 2-level Balance Sheet (refer Image 2) and 3-level Balance Sheet (refer Image3) to find out which account’s total is not the same.

Result is the amount of Deposits Account is different.

2) Go to Account Maintenance; click on Print Chart of Account.

Check the Account Type for all the Deposits sub account and found there are 3 sub accounts in EP account type, they should be CA just as their parent account - Deposits.



3) Go to Account Maintenance, drag and move the 3 sub accounts (one at a time) to place under other Account Type like Current Liabilities, and then place it back under Deposits Account.




This move will update account type accordingly.



The Balance Sheet will be balance now if view in show up to level 2 or 3.
