Troubleshooting: Message box ‘please select a deposit document for the payment method’ prompted when select payment method in AR Receive Payment

Question: why when I choose a payment method in new AR Receive payment, the system prompts me the message box to select the deposit although I have empty unassigned deposits?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reasons:

1. You have wrongly selected the deposit account (payment method), or

2. Your payment method was wrongly created as Deposit Account.

Thus, when you select this payment method, such message box will be prompted for further action.


Solution:

1. Select a correct payment method in AR Receive Payment.

2. Go to General Maintenance > Payment Method Maintenance, select that particular Payment Method and change the Payment Method Type from Deposit (SDP) to Bank (SBK).
