Troubleshooting: Preview report error - o: Metadatafile…C:\Windows\...

Question: When I preview report, it shows error below ( o: Metadatafile….): What should I do?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reason :

The Microsoft .Net framework is not working properly. It may be due to some corrupted or missing files in Microsoft .Net Framework.


Solution (1) :

Repair or Reinstall dot net framework.


For Reinstalling Microsoft .Net Framework, please refer to the following link on how to reinstall the Microsoft .Net Framework.

Preview Report error – Could not load file or assembly…

Solution (2) :

Replace the file. You may copy the file from any other pc that can successfully preview report.



1) Go to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\DevExpress.CodeParser.v13.1\v4.0_13.1.10.0__b88d1754d700e49a (the path shown in the application error)



2) Rename the file DevExpress.CodeParser.v13.1.dll as DevExpress.CodeParser.v13.1.dll.bak (as a backup).


3) Copy the file from another pc, and paste onto the folder ‘C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\DevExpress.CodeParser.v13.1\v4.0_13.1.10.0__b88d1754d700e49a’.


4) Login again to AutoCount and you should be able to preview the report now.
