Troubleshooting: Profit & Loss Report – All expenses show in negative value

Question: Why are all Expenses Account in Profit & Loss showing negative value?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reason:

You’ve mistakenly set the Display as Positive to ‘Credit’ for Expenses account type. By right for expenses accounts the ‘Debit’ should be Displayed as Positive.


Solution:

1) Go to G/L > Profit and Loss Statement, click on Other Settings > Set Account Group.


2) Choose the EP Acc. Change the Display as Positive to Debit, then click on Save.


3) Preview again Profit & Loss Statement and now all Expenses account are positive.
