Troubleshooting: Unable to Perform Merge Account

Question: Error message: "To perform merge operation, the Account Number must not a Parent Account Number” when try to perform merge account.

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reason:

The Account Number that you wish to merge to is a Parent Account. It is not allowed, because Parent Account cannot have any transaction.


Solution:

Go GL > Account Maintenance, to check the account number 905-0000. It was a Parent Account. You may perform merge account to its sub account, 905-0001.
