Troubleshooting: Unable to delete Document Numbering Format - The value of column PaymentFormatName in table Payment Method does not exist in its master file

Question: When I try to delete one of the document formats for PV-PBB and OR-PBB, system prompted error “The value of column PaymentFormatName / ReceiptFormatName in table Payment Method does not exist in its master file.”. Why?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

The value of column PaymentFormatName in table Payment Method does not exist in its master file.

The value of column ReceiptFormatName in table Payment Method does not exist in its master file.

Possible Reason:

The Document Numbering Format is used by a Payment Method.

Solution:

1) Go to General Maintenance > Payment Method Maintenance, pull out the Payment Format Name, and Receipt Format Name, to find out which payment method is using format PV-PBB and OR-PBB.

2) Edit the payment method PBB, change the payment format and receipt format to other format and click on OK.

3) You should now be able to delete the document numbering format.
