Troubleshooting: Unable to delete Sales Invoice

Question: why can’t I delete Invoice? There was an error message prompted ‘Can’t delete A/R invoice that has payment’.

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

This Invoice was knocked off by AR Payment or/and AR Credit Note. Thus, this invoice is not allowed to be deleted.

Solution:

Step 1: Go to A/R module, and then look for A/R Invoice Entry.

Step 2: In A/R Invoice Entry, look for Invoice number I-000003.

Step 3: Navigate to the bottom of the screen, it shows which Payment or Credit Note this Invoice has been knocked off.

Step 4: Double click the AR Payment (or AR Credit Note) and un-knock off invoice.

Step 5: Go back to sales invoice, and delete again.

Step 6: Click on Yes to delete invoice.

The document is successfully deleted.

Note: You can use the same method for Purchase Invoice.
