Troubleshooting: Unable to delete account because it contains one or more sub-accounts

Question: I’m trying to delete account 599-9123 (SPECIAL DEB) in Account Maintenance, system prompted message: “Unable to delete account 599-9123 (SPECIAL DEB) because it contains one or more sub-accounts”. I did not see any sub-accounts under this account.

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

This account is a special account type ‘SDC’ which is Debtor Control Account. There are Debtor accounts assigned under this Debtor Control Account.

Solution:

1) At Debtor Maintenance listing grid, drag out the column of Control Account from column chooser, and find out which Debtors are assigned under 599-9123 Debtor Control Account.

2) Edit the debtors and change it to another Debtor Control Account.

3) After editing the debtor control account, you shall be able to delete the account 599-9123.
