Troubleshooting: Unable to delete account xxx-xxx because it has amount in Year-To-Date balance

Question: Message below prompted when deleting account in Account Maintenance:

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0


Possible Reason:

There is a balance in Year-To-Date Balance or Last Year Balance Maintenance.


Solution:

Clear the amount in Year-To-Date Balance or Last Year Balance Maintenance


Year-To-Date Balance

1. Go to G/L > Year-To-Date Balance Maintenance



2. Double check whether there is a value under this account. Clear the amount if there is an amount inside this account and click on Save to exit. If there is no value inside this account, you have to double check at Last Year Balance Maintenance.



Last Year Balance Maintenance

1. Go to General Maintenance > Last Year Balance Maintenance



2. Clear the amount inside this account and click on Save to exit.



Note: Please consult with auditor or account personnel before deleting or amending any amount of Opening balance/Year-To-Date Balance as this could affect the presentation of your financial report.
