Troubleshooting: Unable to submit GST through TAP for negative output tax (column 5a & 5b)

From AutoCount Resource Center

Question: Why can’t I submit GST through TAP if there is a negative amount in column 5a & 5b? What should I do?

Version: 1.8 / 1.9 / 2.0

Possible Reason:

There are several possibilities that can cause negative amount in columns 5a & 5b. The most common one will be: The reverse GST on Payment for that particular month or the amount of knocked off AR CN is more than the amount of sales on that particular month.

Note: TAP does not allow GST submission if there is any negative amount in columns 5a & 5b.

Solution:

To know why there is negative amount in output tax, you can double click the amount in columns 5a or 5b on GST-03.

One way to do away the negative amount is to change the knock off date of AR payment or AR CN to next GST submission period.

If you do not wish to change the knock off date of AR payment or AR CN to next GST submission period, you may contact Customs officer to apply for manual submission of GST by filling up form and submit over the counter.
