Troubleshooting: Year End Closing Error - The transaction log for database AED XXX is full due to ‘ACTIVE TRANSACTION’

Question: When run year end closing, an error prompted - Unknown Sql Exception (Number= 9002, Message= The transaction log for database ‘AED_XXX” is full due to ‘ACTIVE_TRANSACTION’)

Possible Reason (1):

The file autogrowth is not enabled or the maximum file size is too small.


Solution (1):

1) Search and connect to SQL Management Studio.

2) Right click on the database name and select Properties.

3) Go to Files, and click on … button for LOG file type, check to Enable Autogrowth, set the maximum file size, then click on OK.

Possible Reason (2):

The disk that used to store AutoCount data is full, usually located at C:\AutoCount Data.


Solution (2):

Try to clear up the disk space and run Year End Closing again.


Note: Please seek assistance from your software dealer if the problem persists after performing the suggested steps.
